St. Peter the Fisherman Church, 407 Jackson St., Fairmont, West Virginia

We all have rhythm inside us coming from our heartbeats. Humans throughout time have embodied this rhythm in physical movements and in dance, in language, both spoken and written, and in music. The Telos Trio's program brings together the rhythmic language of poetry in Whitman, Berry, Shakespeare, Mallarme, and Hughes, and the rhythm upon which the music is built with Walker, Bishop, Debussy, and Coleman. Your toes just might want to join in!

Fresh Winds in Our Sails

Sunday, October 20, 2019 @ 12:00AMSun, Oct 20, 2019 @ 12:00AM

Third Presbyterian Church, 4 Meigs St., Rochester, NY

The Telos Trio collaborates with the Greater Rochester Community of Churches in their celebration of 100 years of intentional ecumenical Christian cooperation in Rochester.  That effort has expanded over the years to include interfaith dialogue and cooperation as well as joint work with social justice organizations.  Music selected will connect to GRCC's mission to enlarge a vision for racial and social justice, initiate acts of kindness and compassion, and build the beloved community.  The concert will feature a commissioned work for the Telos Telo by Cary Ratcliff.  In addition, the concert will tie into the Interfaith Children's Weekend sponsored by the Children's Agenda, one of GRCC's partners.
